How to tilt / turn my lawnmower to avoid mixing gas and oil?

I have a lawnmower and plans to clean it. The problem is I don’t know the best ways to turn or tilt it to avoid mixing gas with oil. Any ideas? Thanks.

siphon gas and oil out. (should use fresh with a new season anyway) then there is no worries turn it however you wish.

REMEMBER to put in new oil to the manufacturers specs.
and new gas to start and you are good to go

I too unbolt the motor every other year and totally repaint the deck too, seems to at least look better.
    hope this helps

If you want to clean the bottom of the deck you can turn it on it’s side without any problem. There is a vent on one side of the crankcase, just keep this side up and there will not be a problem. As far as oil going into the cylinder this will not be a problem. The gas will not run into the crankcase. Don’t leave it on its side but to clean it it will be fine.
